Procurement Department Manager
In the context of continuous growth and upgrade of its services, DIMCO is seeking to recruit an experienced Procurement Department Manager to manage the Department’s Operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop the department’s strategy according to the company’s guidelines and plans
- Undertake the restructuring and redevelopment of the department. Holistic analysis regarding existing needs in human resources and procedures and suggestions for further improvement and development
- Able to proceed with long-term plans (3-5 years orientation)
- Represent the company in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers
- Develop cost reduction strategies and saving plans
- Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures
- Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials, equipment, and supplies
- Locate vendors or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales
- Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
- Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids
- Establish and monitor purchasing department budgets
- Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to products certifications
- Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers
- Maintain records of goods ordered and received
- Analyze market
- Prepare reports regarding market conditions
- Responsible for the efficient management of an experienced group of professionals. The qualified candidate will be responsible for the daily management of Purchasing/Product/Import Departments
Qualifications
- University Degree in Business Administration or Electrical Engineering or in a related field
- Master’s degree in MBA or in related field would be considered as an advantage
- 7+ years of experience in managing Purchasing/Product departments
- Experience in the Lighting and/or Electrical industry will be considered an important advantage
- Knowledge of SAP Business One will be considered an important advantage

- Good judgment and decision-making ability
- Able to work under pressure
- Fluent in English and Greek languages (written and spoken)
