The International Syndicated Lending Unit (ISL) is looking for a Relationship Officer to join the existing team that is responsible for the origination, execution and management of the Bank’s international syndicated loans portfolio. The ISL team’s goal is to maintain and grow a diversified portfolio of syndicated loans to large multinational corporations across various countries and economic sectors. ISL’s primary focus includes companies with sub-investment grade credit ratings, often managed by private equity funds.

Main Responsibilities
- Lead or contribute to comprehensive screening and assessment of loan participations for eligible borrowers, enabling well-informed lending decisions
- Develop concise credit memos and dynamic financial models to support lending decisions
- Collect and analyze borrower information to assess financial performance, business model (e.g. SWOT analysis), industry trends and strategic direction
- Review loan documentation and evaluate commercial terms
- Maintain accurate and consistent credit files for assigned borrowers
- Monitor borrower performance, identify risks and deviations from expectations and recommend corrective action as needed
- Track macroeconomic, industry and company-specific trends to proactively identify potential impacts
- Review borrower requests, prepare memos and coordinate communications with stakeholders
- Conduct periodic borrower reviews
- Support the team in data collection, preparation of management presentations, regulatory reports and maintenance of system data
Candidate Profile

Undergraduate and/or Postgraduate degree in Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Physics or a related field

A professional qualification such as ACA, CFA will be considered an advantage

At least 3 years of professional experience in a relevant field; experience in Syndicated Lending will be considered an advantage

Expertise in financial modelling and development of complex models in Excel, along with strong written presentation skills in both Word and Power Point

Up-to-date knowledge of global economic, market and industry trends, particularly in EU and US markets
-
Proficiency in analysing financial statements and market data to support decision making
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Self-motivated, resourceful, proactive and capable of working independently while remaining team-oriented
-
Excellent organisational and time-management skills; able to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple responsibilities and perform effectively under tight deadlines

Comfortable collaborating with stakeholders across time zones

Excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel

Fluency in Greek and English, both verbal and written
