On behalf of our client, a major construction and developer company in Limassol, we are currently looking for a Head of Accounting.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Overseeing the daily activities of the accounting department and ensuring that all major projects, month-end, and year-end reports are completed accurately and on time.
• Ensuring that all accounting processes align with IFRS and current financial legislation.
• Coordinate preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.
• Takes initiative in ensuring departmental compliance with Cyprus tax and VAT requirements as well as with accepted accounting principles.
• Training and motivating accounting staff members while supervising and delegating department tasks.
• Prepare Management Reports and provide suggestions in terms of expenses optimization and revenue and cashflow management.
• Keeping informed about the latest developments in the finance industry.
• Highly developed in fast preparation of requested information and in IFRS reporting closure.

Requirements for the position:

• Holder of ACCA or ACA accounting professional qualification preferable but not essential.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position (preferably in the same industry)
• Experience with direct and indirect Cyprus taxes in the real estate and construction industry will be considered an advantage.
• Excellent English communication skills
• Excellent knowledge of MS office software
• Experience with accounting software Sofia being preferable
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Able to work under pressure and manage deadlines
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
